What product leaders need to know about the shift from software users operate to software that operates for them.

*From the AI Product Leaders Summit 2026 session "Agentify Your Product in 45 Minutes," led by Foldspace Co-Founder and CEO Mickey Alon. Watch the full session above.*

Product teams ship powerful features that users never find, and when users do find them, they often don't know how to use them. That isn't a failure of effort. SaaS is built once for everyone, so the power has to be spread across menus, settings, and best practices that each user learns alone. The UI ends up burying the value it was built to deliver.

At [Delight Path's](https://www.delightpath.com/) AI Product Leaders Summit, [Mickey Alon](https://www.linkedin.com/in/malon/) made the case that AI-Native software ends this tradeoff. Instead of educating users, the product does the work for them. Here are the ideas from the session that matter most for product leaders.

## The model is a commodity. The interface is not.

Every company building with AI now has access to the same models, whether that's Gemini, Claude, or OpenAI. Choosing a model doesn't set a product apart. What does is the layer on top of it: an agent that remembers the user, knows where they are in the product and what they're trying to achieve, and can act on their behalf.

He described this as the front end of SaaS becoming an agentic layer.

## Users want an operator, not an answer engine

A chatbot answers questions. An operator does the work. The difference shows up quickly in how people use it. In Foldspace deployments, around 80% of user requests ask the agent to act, not to supply information.

The session's demo made this concrete. In an agentic CRM, a user asked which opportunities were at risk. They opened one, moved it to negotiation, and imported contacts from a CSV, all from the conversation. The agent navigated to the right pages, filled in the changes, and waited for confirmation before saving anything.

## Agentic UX is more than a chat box

Walls of text don't hold attention. The strongest agentic experiences render a real interface inside the conversation: a pipeline chart, an upload widget, multi-select options, click-throughs, and voice. These elements also give teams room to experiment with format, style, and which conversation starters users respond to.

Two design principles stood out:

- **Work in tandem, keep a human in the loop.** The agent makes changes alongside the user and asks for confirmation before anything is committed.
- **Replace the blank screen with contextual starters.** A user viewing opportunities should see what the agent can do there, based on who they are and what they're trying to accomplish.

## No re-platform, no new permissions model

Two objections come up in every executive conversation, and the session addressed both.

**Does this mean rebuilding the product?** No. The agent works on top of the existing front end and back end. In the session, Alon built a working agent live in about 15 minutes, without changing any product code. Building an agent used to take the better part of a year. Now it takes minutes, and the team still approves every action before it goes live.

**Is it safe?** The agent acts on behalf of the user, using the user's own access token. If a user doesn't have permission to do something, the agent can't do it either. It relies on the permissions the product already enforces rather than working around them.

## Clicks whisper, prompts yell

The most strategic idea in the session may be what happens to product insight. Page views and click funnels leave teams guessing at intent. Prompts state it outright.

With Conversational Analytics, teams see what users ask for, which intents lead, and how the answers differ across new users, existing users, and cohorts. When users ask for something the agent can't do yet, Foldspace flags it as an action gap. If the feature exists, the team closes the gap. If it doesn't, the team has just learned what to build next, backed by real demand.

## The takeaway

The Agentic Interface is a new way users engage with software. The products that win won't be the ones with the most features. They'll be the ones users can simply ask, and that get smarter with every request.
